It is displayed as the headline of the page on search engine results pages (SERPs) and is where users click when they want to open the page.
The meta title of a page is specified in the <title> tag in the page's HTML.
What is meta description?
Meta Description - The text and tokens in this field are used to generate the meta description tag. Several keywords must be included, and it is highly recommended that the content of description is between 160-200 characters to be fully shown on SERPs.

Why is the meta description in Shopify over 200 characters?
Our app recommends limiting the meta description to 200 characters for better alignment with Google Search Engine best practices. Although Shopify's backstage allows longer descriptions (as shown in the screenshot, up to 1409 characters), the grey example text follows the same rules as Shopify's default meta fields.
Product titles and descriptions are pulled directly from Shopify. For optimal SEO performance, we suggest keeping your meta description within 200 characters when using our app.
